5.0 out of 5 stars A Montgomery Family Must Have!, Jan 12 2010
By B. Johnston "Book Wiggler" (ON, CANADA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
The Black Lyon is a must for anyone who has found themselves involved with the Montgomery men and admired their love for spitfire women. Of course Jude takes us on the journey we are so familure with as the first of the dark haired dark eyed heros claims, or tries to, his herroine. Of course, as always she is a little minx and if you are a fan I believe you can follow how this tale is told. Many adventures, females who REFUSE to know their place and of course... a Montgomery!

4.0 out of 5 stars NICE READ, Jun 16 2004
By A Customer
I read this book about 5yrs ago and although I was frustrated with Ranulf for his insensitive behavior toward Lyonenne, what we must remember is the ERA in which the story is being told.

The man was a Knight a Warrior trained to be cold in his dealings. He had also been cheated on by his first wife, which left him untrusting where women were concerned. You must also take into account the lies that were told against the wife and the fact that women had little to no rights in that time. We were trained to be subservient to our husbands. Taking all of this into consideration this book was a very good read.

I would also like to add that when we write these reviews we need to take into account that these are fiction books they are not real and the writer have a right to express themself in the way that they are best able to. And guess what? apparently it's working because we are buying their books. As to the comment about the other writers like Julie Garwood, and Judith McNaught all of these authors write on the same scale trust me, I have read almost every one of their books and Whitney My Love, Highland Velvet and The Bride are my all time favorites.
