As Jill talks to Dan on the phone, she is taken hostage by the suspect in an explosion that destroyed the Newpointe post office and killed three people. Dan hears her terror and, confronted with her possible loss, prays for a chance to love her again. Jill's captor swears he's innocent and begs her help in clearing his name, but he won't name the real killer because of misplaced loyalty. Fast-paced action and a reasonable explanation for an improbable plot twist show why Blackstock is growing in popularity.

I would have to say that Terri Blackstock has shown her abilities as a writer once again in this book. She has demonstrated an absolutely excellent writing ability when it comes to this whole series! I greatly enjoyed "Word of Honor," and some of the themes of a covenant that were so prevalent in this book that I think are oftentimes overlooked so easily in our society. Mind you, I think there are a couple of points in which priorities lose their place in this book, but I also believe that they are restored before the end. I enjoy the murder mystery that is held in the story of one man's faithfulness to God, his family, and his friend. I also really enjoy the story behind Jill and Dan and all the struggles of their relationship while they're still so on and off. Most of all, I love the Christ-centered theme of all of Terri Blackstock's books. This is one sister in Christ who really knows how to write 'em!

This book was probably my favorite out of Blackstock's Newpoint 911 Series - the suspensful story of lawyer Jill, and firefighter Dan fighting to protect their lives makes for a great read! I would recommend this to all- as well as the other books in this series! :)

Also: The Second Chances Series & Sun Coast Chronicles by Terri Balckstock.

Terri Blackstock continues to entertain us with well-written christian narratives. Word of Honor rivits the reader to each page as the heroine struggles with keeping her word to the man who held her hostage yet claims to be innocent. Blackstock weaves a tale so realistic of how circumstances can be different than they look. Great characterizations and true to life scenes make this a fabulous read.
