Product Description

From Publishers Weekly

When software troubleshooter Suzanna Trent attends a Pittsburgh Pirates game to surprise childhood friend (and star player) Tim Trehan, he's delighted to see what a beautiful woman she's grown into. The two share a passionate night together, and Tim, believing he's found the answer to the "curse" that may end his playing days, proposes marriage. The so-called "curse" decrees that whatever befalls his twin brother, Jack the hero from Michaels's previous novel, Love to Love You Baby will happen to him. Since Jack suffered a career-ending injury, married and is expecting a baby, Tim is convinced that if he marries, he can stave off the other two. In an unconventional twist, Tim and Suzanna wed by the end of chapter three, but when Suze finds out about the curse, she kicks him out. Eventually, Suze turns the tables and withholds an important bit of news from Tim, but with his schedule, and hers, they aren't together long enough to build trust. Even when they are, they reminisce instead of discussing matters of importance. This lack of communication is frustrating and only leads to confusion. In trying to help, the couple's loving family and friends unwittingly complicate matters further, which makes for some very funny scenes. These moments are too few, however, to redeem this lackluster romance.

From Booklist

Phillies catcher Tim, twin of Jack (Love to Love You Baby [BKL S 15 01]), is afraid that he'll follow in his brother's footsteps. Jack had to retire from baseball because of an injury, got married, and adopted a baby. Jack is happy with his life, but Tim doesn't want it and is suffering from nightmares because whatever happens to his brother seems to happen to him. When he runs into Suzanna, therefore, he decides to take matters into his own hands and have only one thing that happened to Jack happen to him. So he asks her to marry him, knowing that she's had a crush on him since kindergarten. Suzanna does still love Tim and decides to marry him, although she wonders why he asked. When she finds out, the fireworks begin. Tim realizes that he loves her but is afraid she won't believe him, and Suzanna is scared to tell him that she is pregnant--two of three for Tim in Michaels' delightful summer romance. 4.0 out of 5 stars Quick read... but good., May 2 2004
By Meg "icecat516" (Caribou, Maine) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Be My Baby Tonight (Paperback)
I read this book in a night. It was good in many places, but it got confusing in parts. The baseball angle of the book really wasn't played up that much, which was somewhat of a disappointment. But the characters were good, and well developed, which made it an enjoyable read. They aren't portrayed as holier then thou people who don't make mistakes, or have issues. Suzanna and Tim have more issues than the National Geographic. Which made it enjoyable to read. I would recommend it, but read Love To Love You Baby, which was the first in the series.

4.0 out of 5 stars I liked this book, Oct 29 2002
This review is from: Be My Baby Tonight (Paperback)
I enjoyed this book alot it some lol (laugh out loud) moments but the start of the realtionship with Tim and Suzanna made this book only 4 stars instead of 5 I mean he took her to Vegas to get married she should of known something was up but don't worry everything turns out great in the end and I really enjoyed the rest of the book. I plan on passing this around to my friends who love to read fun romance novels

I recommand Love To Love You Baby

3.0 out of 5 stars Baby oh baby, Oct 7 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Be My Baby Tonight (Paperback)
Like others - I read Love to Love You Baby and thought this one would be just as good - WRONG. LTLYB was smart, funny and a nice light read. Be My Baby Tonight dragged. I couldn't get into the characters, Tim lies Suze doesn't like herself or her marriage, and what happened to the funny, offbeat characters from the first book? This one felt like a reheated version of the last book and not very good.
