Product Description

Maggie is running out of time on this earth. And before she can name her successor, she reflects on the incredible, age-old journey that brought her to where she is. As a girl in ancient Athens, her father was a great warrior and leader of men. However, it was Maggie, known then as Penelope, who chose to battle the greatest enemy of all-the Atrox. After seeing an innocent man succumb to the Atrox and his shadowy followers, she takes a vow to help cleanse the world of its evil. But in doing so, she may have to forego the love of the great soldier, Hector, and lose her sister to the dark side.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointed.., Oct 22 2009
By zigzagvvvvvvvvvv (Markham, On, Canada) - See all my reviews
I'm usually very open-minded, but I thought this book was terrible. You've got a good idea, good characters, but the plot meanders back and forth endlessly and it feels rushed. The dialogue was strained and unrealistic. The writing style is so SIMPLE and BLAND this could be a third-grader's book.

Ex. She walked to the fence. She opened it and felt the wind on her cheeks. Her heart raced, but she thought it would work. She closed the gate and started to walk. The ground was dusty around her shoes.

Like I said before, the story had an extremely good idea, but it was ruined because the author didn't take the time to develop the plot to make it interesting and creative. The characters did things that didn't make sense, and then when they were asked to explain it, they gave a answer that didn't make sense. And the other characters believed them! And in the end it didn't feel..finished. Then what happened next? Then the main character died! The death was obviously supposed to make you feel something, but I didn't feel very sad since the author barely developed her.

I also thought the "bad guy" in this story was unrealistic. I mean, a FORCE of EXTREME evil, evil, and nothing but evil bent on taking all the good things in the world away? See what I mean about a third-grader's book?

I think I would recommend this to any elementary school girl that likes a good story they can understand.

5.0 out of 5 stars Penelope in ancient Greece, Jun 14 2004
By A Customer
This book gives you history plus a story about Penelope. I like how she is adventurous and goes into the caves and fights the Atrox. I also liked learning how the Atrox was once like a man. My favorite part was when she went into Hades to find Hector. The way she got there was a good part of the story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fallin in love with Daughters of the Moon, May 13 2004
By A Customer
I love the cover of the books. Since these books are fantasy, yet placed in modern day,I have been hopeing to see someone wearing moon amulet. I wish these books were real. I want them to be. I love Stanton. Book #8 is my favorite.
