Product Description

The sixth installment in the exciting Sembia series.

Continuing the overall theme of the Sembia series, Sands of the Soul details the interactions of characters debuted in the The Halls of Stormweather anthology. This series was specifically designed to be an accessible entry point for new readers to the Forgotten Realms universe. This particular title fleshes out an area that is familiar to Forgotten Realms fans but that has not been previously detailed.

The only legitimate daughter of the wealthy Uskevren family, Tazi has suffered blow after shattering blow to her body and her spirit, some at the hands of her most trusted allies.

Even as she struggles to mend her fractured soul, Tazi finds herself on a journey that will take her from the safety of Stormweather to the darkest alleys of Selgaunt and the shining heart of the Calim Desert. There, the ever-shifting sands hide an old foe who holds the key to Tazi’s salvation--or her doom.

2.0 out of 5 stars OVERALL SCORE: (C-), Mar 16 2004
Slow, boring, predictable, and the hero is silly and self-absorbed. Also the dialogue is dull and shallow. But, besides that........

{Try, Paul S. Kemp's "Shadow's Witness" (Forgotten Realms: Sembia series, Book 2)" or "Twilight Falling" (Forgotten Realms: The Erevis Cale Trilogy, Book 1) these are really good books!}

OVERALL SCORE: (C-)
PLOT: (C-), CHARATERS: (C-), DIALOGUE: (C-), SETTING: (C), ACTION/COMBAT: (C-), ANTAGONISTS: (B-), ROMANCE: (B-), AGE LEVEL: (PG)

5.0 out of 5 stars Another good one in the Sembia series, April 18 2003
By "margarit47" (Wheeling, WV) - See all my reviews
I have to agree with the majority that have posted here when I saw I really liked the book. Sort of funny to read the review before mine, though. I always laugh when people have some critisim of another's work when they can't even bother to check their own spelling. :)

Tazi gets herself back together, but...spoiler...I sort of wonder what's going to happen to her as she loses those closest to her. Should be an interesting journey for her.

Eagerly waiting for Tazi's next story!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, April 10 2003
By Carrie Johnson (eastliverpool, ohio United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This book had some real potential, but it sort of de-railed along the way. While it has a great start and a killer villain. However, once Tazi leaves Sembia the story goes from great to mediocre. A once greatly malicious villain turns into your average nasty schmoe and the novle just degenerates into a standard hack and slash unbtil you get to the end of the story type book.

While not bad, this is definately the low point in the Sembian series, which means it is still good, just not as good as the rest of them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tazi Rocks!
I've gotta agree with the other review that this book isn't as gory as some of the other FR books, but it was thrilling anyway! Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the rest of the series
This feels like a short story which has been stretched. Not enough happens, and as has been remarked, the villain is not terribly credible. Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars I Like Her!
I've been waiting for this story since her debut in Halls of Stormweather and was not let down. Not as much hack-n-slash as some FR books, but good nonetheless. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Damn it, damn it!
I was sorely disappointed after the anticipation for this book. Really, most of the novel is quite interesting. Tazi's a good character. But... the villain. Read more
