Leaving Fishers (Audio Cassette)

Consistently, Margaret Peterson Haddix has taken subjects that most other authors wouldn't touch with a 40-foot pole, and developed them into books that left the reader desperate for more. She displays this talent in Fishers incredibly well, as is evident in her well-rounded characters, fast-moving plot, and dialogue that seems to draw you right into the story. (I think that's a run-on sentence, but I am typing so fast because I love this book so much...well, you get the picture.)

And I end this rambling review with a plea: Ms. Peterson Haddix, PLEASE write a sequel to this book, or more like it! Oh, and absolutely wonderful job with all of your books!

i thought leaving fishers was an amazing book...obviously Haddix is a good writer if u have read other books by her u would no....this book was one of those books that u just cant put down. i was on mnyu way home from vacation and i read it all the way throught hte car, in a resteraunt, onto the plane, where i finished it.

its extremely good because its such a deep issue. i wouldnt reccomend u read it unless u think ur mature enough or at least 11 or 12. It really goes into depth in wich u really think about religion. the book almost sucks u into the religious cult for a while. u yourself may begin thinking about joining a new religion such as this wen u begin to read it. it feels new and amzing and u WANT to be w/ god...then it shows the horror of cults through this girls experiance. it shows you how these cults are NOT good and of course shows that they are cults..many times pplz dont nno they are in a cult. this book hleps to show you wat one is. At the end you learn exactly how that cult worked and how it sucked her into it.

i think its really important to read a book like this becuz not only is it a great story but w/o reading it you might never learn about religious cults and might not no u are in one if u are. plus as i mentioned the book realy makes u think about religion and god. It makes u think deeply about wat u want, even if u are young or totally not into religion.

my friend is a part of a religion, jehovas whitness which i will not say mean things about, because of course its not a bad thing. although i looked it up and many say it is NOT a religious cult this book got me wondering about it. so many things in this book seem like my friendz religion and i really wish she could read it along with the millions of other kids sucked inot these religious cults.

i do beleive tha tpplz should have religion but dont think it should be ur main part of life and should RULE everything u say and do. this book really made me think about wat i wanted, which was this. i dont think u should do bad things b/c ur religion

well im getting kinda offtopic but my point is, its an extremely good book, READ IT. its not like a book of facts. its a story. and u learn things through it. it really is amazing.
