Product Description

In the same winning format as Lavender Garden and Sage Garden, this sumptuously photographed gift book tells the story behind the incomparably sweet amber liquid known as honey. Food writer Stephanie Rosenbaum shares its history and lore, outlines the natural process of creating honey, profiles varieties, and offers up over thirty tantalizing recipes for edibles and crafts (amber lollipops and healthy smoothies, lip-smacking lip balm and honeycomb candles). Caroline Kopp's gorgeous photographs take the reader on the wondrous journey from the bee to the biscuit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly delightful!, April 29 2002
By A Customer
Whether you're a cook, a gardener, or just have a sweet-tooth, this book is great fun -- a real pleasure visually and reading-wise. The history part is fascinating and well-written, the recipes look sumptuous, and the crafts seem simple enough to do with a minimum of preparation and time. It's really beautiful and a great gift -- I love my copy so much, I'm getting one for my mom!
