From AudioFile

Elizabeth Ashley's husky voice does not work well in Weep No More, My Lady. The star witness in the death of legendary actress Leila LaSalle is her sister Elizabeth, who soon finds that she herself may be the next victim. Ashley's gruff voice doesn't have the range to create the variety of characters, though the most dramatic scenes work well. Considering the large casts of characters, the abridgment is easy to follow. M.J.C. (c)AudioFile, Portland, Maine --Ce texte provient d'une édition qui n'est plus publiée ou qui est non diponible.

Product Description

Elizabeth Lange has arrived at Cypress Point Spa in Pebble Beach, California, weary of heart and soul. Still grieving for her beloved sister, a famous actress who plunged to her death from her Manhattan penthouse, Elizabeth is determined to unearth the truth about how Leila died. Dashing multimillionaire Ted Winters stands accused of her murder, but Elizabeth has doubts.

Along the windswept cliffs of the Monterey coast, in luxurious bungalows, between gourmet meals and beachfront walks, uneasiness stalks Elizabeth while she begins opening doors to the past. As glimpses of the dark truth about Leila's life and death -- and about Elizabeth herself -- start to crash against her mind, an ominous wave from an unexpected source threatens to engulf her entirely. --Ce texte provient de la Mass Market Paperback édition.

4.0étoiles sur 5 Wow!, Juil 17 2004

I just read this book again after reading it real long ago...I thought it was boring then...but it kept me reading so diligently until the end this time because I forgot who was the killer. At one pivotal point I found myself going "Ohhhhh!!...", thinking I knew who it was, and then discovering I was right when the identity was finally revealed...making me shake my head, thinking it was so easy, I should have picked up on it sooner...if you're looking to read a Mary Higgins Clark book, I don't see how you could go wrong with this one.

A man had told her he was a photographer, almost robbed Leila.
Then the story begins, when they are older. Elizabeth's new last name is Lange. She got this name by acting in a movie. Leila isn't very successful; she has starred in her own play, which was a disaster. Leila was now dating a very wealthy man named Ted Winters the third. One night after Leila's play, Leila was drunk and was threatening Ted. After that night the cops found a dead body by Leila's apartment building. People said that Ted pushed her off, others said that she killed herself.

Elizabeth goes their to relax, but what she doesn't know is that the killer of Leila is there and is watching her every move. 5.0étoiles sur 5 a great murder mystery, Mai 6 2004
Par Un client
This book is about the untimely death of a glamorous actress and her sister's mission to discover the truth. The story begins in a small town in Kentucky, where the sun is hotter than hell, and eight-year old Elizabeth waits for her nineteen-year sister, Leila, to return home from work. While Leila is away at work, their mother's boyfriend comes close to molesting Elizabeth. Fortunately, Leila comes home and stops him in the act. Leila, who has been planning her escape from her alcoholic mother, realizes that she cannot leave her sister behind while her mother brings home drunkard to drunkard. Leila takes Elizabeth away and they both move to New York, where Leila becomes a star. Nineteen years later Leila lies dead on the concrete couryard of her penthouse. The accused murderer is Leila's fiance, millionare Ted Winters, someone who Elizabeth and Leila loved and trusted. It is up to Elizabeth to find out what really happened that night. Did she fall? Was she pushed? Is Ted guilty? This is an amazing murder mystery. This is about a woman who had everything, and the people in her inner circle who wanted wanted to take it away. It's about relationships, jealousy, hate and love, and hidden feelings that have been suppressed for so many years. In the end, Elizabeth must find out the truth because as key witness in the trial she holds Ted's life in her hands, hands that yearn to avenge her sister's death.
