5.0 out of 5 stars The best love story ever!!!!, Jul 14 2006
This review is from: So Worthy My Love (Audio Cassette)
This book is sooooooo!!!!! excellent. It was the first love story I have ever read by Kathaleen Woodiwiss. Therefore, she has inspired me to keep pursuin her astounding novels. In this book I adored Elise's bold, radiant spirit. She represents women in a good way.(Not acting as though she were "easy") And Maxim, her captor, continues to act like a respectful gentlemen despite Elise not believing him about being a murderer. When they finally fell beautifully in love, it was wonderful. But I personally enjoyed the "chase" she gave. Not falling for her captor to quicly. It showed independence. But when they got married, she turned out to be a challenging prize worth competing for.

2.0 out of 5 stars What were all the other reviewers smoking?, Jan 23 2004
By SusieQ (New York) - See all my reviews
I used to like Kathleen Woodiwiss, when I was 15 and first read "Shanna", which I consider the best of her books...but the rest of her novels in my opinion, truly stink, they are way too clogged with superfluous detail upon detail, and thus take forever to read...the plot is spelled out in excrutiating detail, & drags on and on with descriptions of EVERYTHING before you actually get to any one character's motivations and/or emotions, not to mention interactions between characters -- there is so little of this that her books just stop dead...you are so busy reading these boring bits before you hit anyone even having a conversation! Ms. Woodiwiss really needs to cut out the fat & write a romance novel that hums along, not drags its feet. Having said that about her books in general...THIS book was particularly affected by these qualities, and thus, for me, it dragged on & on, I found myself skipping forward in a desperate effort to find out if the story was actually MOVING. But it never did. What a snooze.

3.0 out of 5 stars I don't like Elise.., May 27 2003
By A Customer
Well.. She is not the best character for Woodiwiss' heroine. Witty, yes. Hot tempered, definettely. Stupid, yes. Spoilt, absolutely.

I just think it would be better if Elise is all of the above but stupid. I can't find a man who would likely besotted to a woman with such a handfull character. Don't believe it in the least that any gentlemen could pass her as charming with situation she created in the story.

Just read it through... It is very disturbing that although I like the story line I could hardly enjoy the main character.

Hmmm

3.0 out of 5 stars "So Worthy" not worthy of Woodiwiss

1.0 out of 5 stars Woodiwiss is akimbo!!
What an insult to one's intelligence to read such drivel! The author must have learned a new word "akimbo" just prior to writing this book, and tried to use it in every... Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars Not so worthy my attention ...
I don't know why, but I didn't like this book. Maybe I wasn't content with Elise - I prefer calmer heroines, like Heather from „The flame and the flower". Read more
