3.0 out of 5 stars right down to business!, Oct 17 2002
By A Customer
My first reaction after reading "Where did I come from" was, wow! Am I ready to read this to my ten year old daughter? ! But as time went on I sort of calmed down from the initial shock of the reality!
The book clearly explains the human reproduction and prenatal development. I feel that it is an appropriate book for my ten year old. It introduces to proper names for the male and female genitals and defines the sexual act. I think I'm going to read this book to my daughter, even though I do feel embarrassed! And I do recommend this book to other parents who want to teach their children about facts of life!

1.0 out of 5 stars Too graphic, Sep 3 2003
By Terri (Bowling Green Oh USA) - See all my reviews
This book is very graphic, the text and pictures. A young child does not need to know this much information. I really disagree when he describes having sex is like being tickled. With so much sexual abuse with children, this is a very dangerous way to explain sex. I would skip this book, there are better for children.

4.0 out of 5 stars Following my Mother's example 25 years later. . ., July 10 2004
By A Customer
I doesn't seem like it, but just over 25 years ago, my mother sat me down with this book and we went through it. She was a teacher and very much loved books so we had our first talk about sex with the assistance of this one. Now, my daughter is 6 years old and asking questions. Although, I don't discourage her from asking, and I don't shy away from the questions, I'm not sure just how much detail I should get into with her at this age. So this book has come to my mind. I will purchase it and sit down with my daughter as my mother sat down with me. It's got cartoon pictures in it that don't make it quite so uncomfortable to discuss. And I prefer to give her the facts rather than for her get made up stories from other children.
