4.0 out of 5 stars More a 3.5 star book. Interesting story ,likeable characters, Jan 3 2002
By A Customer
Jacket Blurb:"Determined never to marry, Lady Stephanie Morris has but one true love: the Priory, the beloved family estate in England she managed ever since her mother died. [Note: Her mother died in childbirth of her...] But suddenly, without warning, her father Lord Christopher Morris, returns to England. He and his business partner, the roguishly handsome Lord Anthony Rider, have plans for the Priory--and for Stephanie. [Actually, her father has plans for her; Rider didn't.] As assorted fops, fools, and fortune hunters vie for her hand, Stephanie realizes that she's in love with a man whose sensual caresses will plunge her into a world of peril and intrigue...a man as dangerous as he is irresistible.

Liked the characters although some of the underlying motivations for the characters were far-fetched. I didn't know what to expect with this story. That in itself is worth saying when talking about Regencies. Forget Regency etiquette accuracy with this book. You just need to flow with the story and not get hung up on a lot of little things in this book. But on the other hand, it was an interesting read with a little fun along the way. Too bad the villains were so unrealistically over the top and the father's reason for such extreme revenge was ridiculous.
