4.0 out of 5 stars Very Informative and Full of information, Nov 2 2003
By B. McCormack (Atlanta, GA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I enjoyed reading this book very much. Kreeft writes with a very logical approach while at the same time being very funny. He relies heavily on Thomistic metaphysics, which is fine, but at the same time could have used more clarification. Also, he did not address more controversial issues such as knowing your angel's name and "commanding" your guardian angels. However, I would still recommend this book as solid introduction to angels.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent overview of angels, Mar 20 2002
By J. Coomes (Louisville, KY) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I picked up this book quite at random a few days ago in the bookstore and didn't put it down until I finished it. Many times, the popular books on angels out there are made up of (uneducated) guesses or what feels good, but Kreeft uses reason, Church tradition and other philosophers (mostly Aquinas), in addition to the Bible, to support his answers about angels. It's tough to wade through all the pop-theology books on angels in stores and I highly recommend this as one of the few quality gems that makes a lot of sense. Truly a refreshing, intelligent, and thought-provoking read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Clear, concise, simple: for beginners., Jan 23 2002
By A Customer
Authoritative and based on solid theological ground.
This book is the best modern introduction on angels and spirits. It is full of facts, citations, illustrations and lot of youthfull humor. I enjoyed it very much and in particular the appendix about the phenomenon of angelism in our society. A must read for all interested in theology, spirits and angels.

4.0 out of 5 stars The bare bones reality about angels! (no pun intended)
If you want to really understand the nature of angels and what they can do in your life, then read this book. I have a much better understanding about my own guardian angel.
