4.0 out of 5 stars It's about time someone noticed, Dec 17 2005
By Joanna Fletcher (Vancouver, BC, Canada) - See all my reviews
I'm thankful beyond words that this book exists. There are so many people out there who have been diagnosed with some kind of mental pathology when they are just behaving like a normal gifted person. Gifted people have different norms. It's obvious when you think about it, but they don't teach it in doctor school. If you are getting one of these diagnoses, and you have even a wisp of suspicion that you might be gifted, read this book. If it's your kid on that couch, read it twice.

Anyway the information itself is pretty good, although totally off-base in my opinion in a couple of sections (especially the schizoid disorders). However, I am not a clinician, simply a humble life coach who works exclusively with gifted people. It is almost impossible to even write about giftedness and I applaud any book that raises awareness of some of the issues.
