From Library Journal
School principal Mary Jones is leading a quiet life in the small rural town of Chester, Alberta, Canada, when the murder of televangelist Sterling Jonas makes her recall a past she would rather forget. Nearly 20 years before, Mary had found herself unwed and pregnant, an unforgivable situation to her preacher father, Jonas. Now Mary comes to believe that she is the victim of a stalker and that the stalker may be the son she reluctantly gave up years before. Hall (August Gamble, Bethel, 1995) presents a well-drawn and plausible portrait of a woman turned off from religion because of the cruel acts of one man. The suspense is reminiscent of the work of Mary Higgins Clark. A solid book that deserves a place in most collections.
