When Jamey is kidnapped by a mysterious guy who seems bent on killing him, he unknowingly releases another from a stone. While trying to escape the guy a second time, he meets a dragon who tells him that he is a Rainbow - a defender of light and color.

Through further mishaps, a battle, and help along the way, he finds himself ten years older, with powers he doesn't understand, and in an alternate universe. The man he saved from the stone explains to Jamey that the man who kidnapped him was the Dark Master who is bent on the destruction of all color. He requests Jamey and some other warriors' help in uncovering the eight pearls, the only way to defeat the Dark Master before he attacks the heart of color in six months.

Now, Jamey must trust his life in the hands of strangers as he and his newfound companions face perils beyond their imagination, minions of the Dark Master, and evil worse than anything anyone has ever known- all in order to save his world as well as a world he barely knows.

Will Jamey learn to use his powers in time? Will he and the other warriors find the eight pearls before the Dark Master destroys everything?

Although there were parts of this story that were confusing and made the book hard to follow in places, this fast-paced adventure was well worth the read. The dragons in it are entertaining and a highlight of the book. The good characters are easy to love. The battles of good vs. evil are also unique and gripping.

Readers who like dragons, fantasy, science fiction, action, and adventure will all enjoy reading CREN AND THE WAR OF SEVEN DAYS.
