2.0 out of 5 stars Ridiculous, April 19 2005
By A Customer
This book is full of ridiculous names that no parent in their right mind would curse their child with! I mean really, "Dijonnaise"??? Yes, it actually means a condiment made from mustard and mayonnaise. The meanings Dianne gives to many of the names are simply made-up. The book is full of so-called "american" names that are just made up words (e.g. Fushy). The one saving grace is that the lists at the front of the book are a fun idea. I have 4 baby name books and this is by far my least favorite. I find Bruce Lansky's books much more useful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, Jul 4 2004
I have read this book and i think it's wonderful! I think that there are many useful names that would inspire any new parent to use one, or two! I would definitely recommend this book to my friends who are expecting! Even to parents who don't have a child on the way, this book is great for them because it gives them very good ideas "on into the future". If you are sitting here reading this review pondering on what to name your "new addition to the family", this book is for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars 40,001 Baby Names, Jun 17 2004
By A Customer
Wonderful book of names for babies. Diane did great job of writing this book and making it reader friendly when choosing a name for the new baby. I really enjoyed reading the book. It should prove to be very helpful to anyone trying to choose a name for their child. They won't have to use the same old worn out names that most of us were 'blessed' with.

1.0 out of 5 stars Buy a different book
This book had lots of made up names. Also the lists are fun to read, but not really believable. Don't waste your money on this one!
