From School Library Journal
YA-- Initially this seems to be a very cut-and-dried western about doing right by others, but Paine throws a surprise at readers every time they think they know what's happening. When banker Charley Bonner ships a large amount of greenbacks on the stagecoach without the knowledge of either the driver or the marshal and without supplying a gun guard, he sets in motion a chain of events the likes of which he never dreamed. At times readers may be confused by the author's interchanging of the characters' names and job titles, but the sudden twists and turns will keep them turning the pages as quickly as possible. --Jacqueline J.
