1.0 out of 5 stars Depressing at best., Jul 9 2009
By Judith A. Benson "nflder" (Newfoundland) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Why do writers think that chapter after chapter of rape-torture makes good fiction?
If I pay for a new book, particularly following six prior books that whet my appitite, I do not want to be horrified. If I wanted to read about misery, I'd read the news, not fiction.
This book is a blatant example of loose ends. At the end the bad guy bikers who want our hero dead have not been dealt with, a prior hero has found one of his six brothers, and his fate is left hanging as well.
I realize a writer wants to write a follow-up book, but you can still give every book a proper ending.

2.0 out of 5 stars mixed feelings, Jul 20 2009
I awaited this book with great anticipation. The other six books which led up to this, the supposed grand finale, were great, worthy of bearing Christine Feehan's name. This; however, falls short of the mark. There are so many questions left unanswered by the storyline that is Ms. Feehan does not follow up this series with another, using the same characters, to bring completion, I can think of at least one club that will be more than just disappointed. There is a great feeling out here that Ilya will be out there looking for his siblings, especially now that he has found the one. If they are anything like him it would make a great series, as well as give satisfaction to the people who found this book week and sketchy.

I will not say that the book was a total bomb, it definitely did have its
moments, a lot of ground was covered, but it was rushed which makes the story line questionable. Would I buy it again? Yes. Why? because it is a Feehan book, it is the end of the series, and it could be a link to a (I hope) series about the seven brothers.

1.0 out of 5 stars Huge disappointment, Sep 13 2009
By Astrid (Tecumseh, ON.) - See all my reviews
As Ms. Feehan novels become thicker her quality of writing slipped somewhere along pages and we were left with this huge hole called " Hidden Currents " .The Drake Sisters series have prepared us for a big finale instead we have found a boring , full of rape and suffering story , so bad that at one point I have started to skip pages , something I have never done with her tales before. I think , a big injustice has been done to Elle and Jackson as a characters of this book and even bigger to all Ms. Feehan followers. Shame.
