Product Description

Product Description

This is an easy to read, illustrated, self-help guide to overcome anxiety. This very unique approach combines cognitive behavioural therapy with humour skills. These techniques are based on my clinical experience in which clients made positive changes. The case studies and cartoons bring the topic to life and make the book a pleasure to read.

You can learn how to change unhelpful thinking and behaviours such as perfectionism, procrastination, worry, agoraphobia, job anxiety, clutter and poor communication. You will discover how to take control of your life, relax, and how to do a laughter workout!

About the Author

Sharron Orovan-Johnston is a registered nurse with over 30 years of psychiatric experience. (Not bad for someone who claims to be 39!) She is an assistant professor in the department of psychiatry and neurosciences, McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario. Sharron promotes humour as a coping skill to decrease stress and anxiety. She is a well known speaker at workshops and conferences in Canada, US, England, Norway, Japan and Italy. Sharron took her appreciation of humour to the community of Hamilton by co-founding the "Lighten Up" Hamilton Week and Red Nose Day. She also co-founded and co-organizes the successful Canadian Humour Conference held annually in Hamilton, Ontario.
