Fans of Diana Gabaldon will enjoy this second work of historical fiction about Lord John Grey, a marginal character in the Outlander series. John Greys honor, indeed, his very life, is tested as he searches for the truth about his fathers death and becomes entangled in a risky romance. Jeff Woodman narrates in an elegant British tone that is quite suitable, given Greys family title. Woodman also offers an extensive assortment of other voices for various characters. Happily for Outlander fans, his Scots dialect is rich and well done for the few scenes with Jamie Fraser. In typical Gabaldon style, this is a plush period piece, satisfyingly immersed in the details of eighteenth-century London society and the Seven Years War. N.M.C. © AudioFile 2008, Portland, Maine--
