From School Library Journal
Grade 7 Up-In this second book in the series, Holly and her cousins Amanda and Nicole are still ensconced in a feud with the evil Deveraux warlocks. Nicole is traveling throughout Europe trying to deny that she is a witch and to avoid giving in to the guilt she feels for having abandoned her family and the coven. Ghostly ancestors from both sides-some decomposing, some inhabiting their relatives' bodies, some seemingly intact-help to fuel the animosity between the clans. Unfortunately, the great battle (and the assumed climax of the story) stops abruptly, without giving readers any clue as to why. The plot is confusing and transports characters from one time period to another, one astral plane to the next, with little explanation. There are too many characters and too many subplots to keep track of, and nothing seems resolved or completely fleshed out. There is not a single sympathetic character in the bunch, and it is difficult to tell throughout much of the book the difference between the good guys and the bad.

Product Description
Holly Cathers and her twin cousins have just graduated from high school, and they’re moving on toward their first semester of college. But no matter where they go, they will never be entirely free of their past. The three are descendants of a powerful cover of witches – in constant danger from a rival clan.
Holly learns from a vision that Jer is still alive. As leader of the cover, she resolves to rescue him despite the fact that he is a member of the Deveraux clan and therefore her enemy. But her efforts are thwarted when her aunt reveals the nature of an ancient curse visited upon all Cathers witches. It becomes clear to Holly that the death of her parents was no accident, and a similar plague is sure to fall on anyone she grows close to. As her power strengthens, can Holly escape her destiny? And if her destiny includes Jer, does she want to?
