Product Description

Product Description

Based on 1,000 new surveys with gifted kids, this book will continue to help countless bright, talented children know they're not 'weird' or alone in the world. It answers their questions about what gifted is (and isn't), how to cope with teasing, how to deal with high expectations and perfectionism, how to make friends, and much more. It's upbeat, informative, friendly, and compact. At a time when some gifted programs are being challenged, scaled back, or dropped, it's more important than ever to have "The Gifted Kids' Survival Guide".

Ingram

First published in 1984, newly revised and updated, this book has helped countless young gifted children realize they're not alone and being smart, talented and creative is a bonus--not a burden. It answers their questions about why they think and learn the way they do, and what "giftedness" and IQ really mean, and how to handle high expectations. --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, Jul 11 2001

I read this book when I was much younger and it is great. All kids, under 10, will love this book. It will make them understand easily that being gifted isn't a bad thing, but something that makes you special, and isn't something to be ashamed of. This is a must read for any gifted child under the age of 10.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Gifted Kids' Survival Guide for ages 10 and under, Feb 7 2001
By A Customer
This book is terrific. I read a lot of it aloud to my 5 year-old and he appreciated the explanations and suggestions. I think this book has a lot of really practical suggestions for parents and kids. It also empowers kids to learn how to enjoy their gifts. I would highly recommend this book.
