4.0 out of 5 stars Brief but complete, Aug 15 2004
By A Customer
Getting into the kennel business is a bit easier with this book. It is brief but some of the suggestions are so simple we hadn't thought of them (like what kind of light bulbs to use in the kennel and why). The behavior section is a bit out of place in this book as everybody has their own version of proper dog training and nobody would buy this book to learn about dog training. (Stick to the kennel stuff) Those building a kennel who don't already know about dog training won't be helped with one chapter in a small book... The checklists are awesome as are the suggestions about layout (drainage, weather sheltering, cleaning, etc). The only downside of the section on construction is the cost of his suggestions. It seems his version on construction is not doing any of the work yourself. But as far as kennel books go (and there aren't many) this one is a pretty good guide.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Help and Guiding..., Mar 16 2004

This book was very easy to read and has good ideas and it also includes check-lists (which I thought was a good idea itself). It is easy to read, yet gives good details. I would reccomend this book for anyone remotely interested in Kenneling. It will let you know if the job is for you or not.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good book. Lots of insights and information, May 21 2003
By Claudiano (Sao Jose dos Campos, SP Brazil) - See all my reviews
OK, there are not so many books on the subject. From the few available, this one is probably the most comprehensive. Just behare that it was primarily designed with the professionals in mind. I think that there is still a large market for the hobbyists, that is, breeders that just want a simple kennel with 4 or 5 runs. By the way, with the help of this book, and some extra research, I was able to build a really nice kennel, used as a reference by many other breeders in my area.
