5.0 out of 5 stars A Student Of Prof Muranaka, May 23 2003
By A Customer
I have studied Japanese Calligraphy with Profssor Muranaka, and his book has been very helpful. He has generously given each of his students his book. He is an extremely talented man who knows what he is doing.

2.0 out of 5 stars pardon the pun but very cursory, Jul 6 2001

(REAL NAME)
Dipping far more lightly than the author might ever advocate his students of the brush, we are presented with the barest glimpse of the rich history and variety of this art form. Appropriate to perhaps to the naive novice, anyone with a serious interest in Asian calligraphy will be left wanting. There are better options out there: I exhort buyers to explore other options before making this purchase.
