Product Description

From AudioFile

Enter Feehan's world of the paranormal, where Carpathians fight vampires and telepaths communicate with both. Raven Whitney, a telepathic hunter of serial killers, travels to the Carpathian Mountains for a little rest, hears telepathically Mikhail Dubrinsky's cries of loneliness and answers, only to find she is his life mate. Dubrinsky, Prince of the Carpathians, enchants Raven, while fending off a group of vampire killers who are attacking Carpathians. Juanita Parker performs Feehan's tale with wonder in her voice and passion at just the right parts. Sometimes the narration is matter-of-fact, but mostly it is laced with the enchantment Feehan brings to all her paranormal tales. Beware, the Dark Prince will enthrall you. 5.0 out of 5 stars a great read!, April 28 2004
From the back of the book...

He came to her in the night, a preadtor-strength and power chiseled his features. The seduction was deep and elemental; he affected her soul. His need. His darkness. His terrible haunting loneliness. Her senses aroused, she craved the dangerous force of his body. Burned for him. And he had only touched her with his mind.

She came to him at dawn, his bleakest hour. As the beast raged inside him, threating to consume him, he vented his centuries-old despair in an anguished cry that filled the waning night. And she answered, a ray of light, piercing his darknss. A beautiful angel. Her compassion, courage, and innocence awakened in him an exquisite longing and tenderness. He knew he must posses her, for only she could tame his savage side and lift the dark shadow from his soul. Apart they were desolate, berefit. Intertwined physically and spiritually, they could heal one another and experince an eternity of nights filled with love.

3.0 out of 5 stars Dark Prince / Dark Descent, April 16 2005
By A Customer
I am an avid reader of all of Christine Feehan's books, I just love her "Dark" series and have kept all of them instead of "recycling". This is where my problem lies with the low rating, not because I didn't enjoy it. but because I had to buy a book I already own to read the new short story Dark Descent (which I did enjoy, by the way). I just want to say, that I hope this ruse of adding a "special bonus short story" to sell an already published book to get the reader to buy it again is a bad mistake. I did buy it this time, but once more, and I may just refuse to buy any more of her books (much to my chagrine, because she has some excellent new series coming out). I know you probably will not publish this, but I had to let my opinion by known, and this is the only place I could think of. Please let Christine and her publisher know that this is a very bad idea!

2.0 out of 5 stars wordy...and the story?, Jun 17 2009
By Trang T. Ly (Canada) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I know fans of Chrstine Feehan will shoot me for not absolutely loving Dark Prince...but I just plain didn't see much to love.

The book was VERY wordy (tons of boring descriptions) and actually really repetitive (I thought maybe someone moved my bookmark because I could have swore that I had read this passage...once, twice or maybe even three times before).

Most of the characters I found to be very dull. The inconsistencies with Raven's actions and way of thinking bothered me quite a bit. Also parts of the story was rather inconsistent as well (the amount of power the Carpathians possessed as well as why they would logically fear any of the things that threatened them were a little unbelievable).

Also many of the events in the story I thought were completely unnecessary...and just there to try to make the story move forward...but really failed to do so.

The one thing I can say I thought was the saving point of the novel was the character Gregori... he was the single most interesting thing written in the entire book.

Lastly...this edition of the novel also featured the short story "Dark Descent"...which I found was slightly better the Dark Prince...only because it was MUCH shorter and pretty much managed to get through the same amount of story as Dark Prince.

This was the first romance novel I ever read. I finished it and thought it was one of the worst books I ever read. Then I promptly picked it up and read it again. Read more
