This is another book featuring recurring character Lucas Davenport. Over the many years of his "life" Davenport has matured and changed and this makes the character both more likeable and human. The story is well researched and leads the reader into elements of a political convention that are likely unknown to most. What in other hands would be a robbery novel turns into a fast paced and powerful work of investigative suspense that is both fascinating and chilling particularly when Davenport's ward Letty becomes involved.

It's a fast read consistent with Sandford's excellent work and highly recommended
