About the Author

Lachlan Gordon-Duff joined the 1st Battalion Gordon Highlanders in 1935 and fought throughout World War II, seeing action in France, North Africa and Italy. Gordon-Duff later became a farmer and commanded the 8th (TA) Battalion in Scotland. Gordon-Duff, who currently resides in Macclesfield, Cheshire, wrote With the Gordon Highlanders to the Boer War and Beyond in his father's memory and as a tribute to a fine regiment which no longer exists.
