About the Author
J. M. Barrie (1860-1937) wrote bestselling stories, novels and plays. Peter Pan, his most enduring work, was first performed in 1904 and reissued in novel form in 1911. Australian artist and author Robert Ingpen was awarded the Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 1986 for his contribution to children's literature. More recently he has illustrated editions of other classic works such as Treasure Island and The Jungle Book.
