I collect oracles of various kinds and have added this to my collection. There are two criteria I use to judge I Ching books and cards. I look first at whether the interpretation has been altered to make it useful in modern terms. This oracle does give a resonably useful description of the card meanings and they are well illustrated. The second is how well the changing lines work...This deck has no interps for changing lines...To me the most important cautions or validations regarading a question are to be found in the changing lines. When the lines aren't allowed to change you don't know the speicifics of the action required. You could set aside the cards and cast coins to produce a hexagram with changing lines. This would allow you to deduce the second hexagram if any...but the transition between the two (meaning of each changing line) would still be lost. I think a lot more could have been done with this deck. I think in creating a deck with a more feminine spirituality she lost site of its value as an Oracle.
