An amazing step in metal music, May 19 2004
Rammstein's music is a breath of fresh air in a genre of music that has constantly tried to conform itself and repeat. But appearntly the germans are really the masters of metal music, and Rammstein really proves this. I began getting interested with german and Norwegian music with the band Dimmu Borgir, and now i find that the language is an intrigal part in the music itself. The fact that the songs are all sung in thier native language will not detour you but intrigue you and make you want to sing along with the harsh lyrics. The music itself is dark, heavy, very eerie and i think indeed very gothic. The guitar style is heavy enough to knock you off your chair, the vocalist can make his voice low and dramitic without sounding overtried or corny like Slipknot, and the keyboards add the icing to the cake with their creepy keys. One of my favorite songs on here would be 'Mutter,' a sad song about a man filled with hate who has no real mother. Another good hit is the song 'Ich will,' the fast paced metal stopmer laden with shouting crowds and awesome creepy keyboards that makes the song something that teenagers would gladly love to scare the hell out of thier parents with. But then agian, isnt scary something you would just expect from a group of ex-factory worker German headbangers clad with strap-on dildoes who like to set people on fire?

One word? Amazing [late review], Jan 24 2008
Rammstein is one of those bands that deserves more attention then it currently has. Some may claim that this disc is nu-metal, since of the electronic samplings, but that is a complete and utter lie. This CD only contains elements of hard rock, which isn't heard to often in the 2000-2008 era.
Not to mention they are backed up by an ocrestra this time, so when you hear My Heart Burns [track 1] you know that you are going to experience something great.
Left 2, 3, 4, I want, and Fire Away are straight up rocking tracks, which are the most popular, but there are plenty others. Not to mention that they are intersting throughout with no filler... another thing which is rare in industrial rock bands of today.
But the band proves they have some humor... in hermophodite, the song is exactly what it says, quite a hilarious listen, the meaning is "when someone told me to f--k myself, that's what I did"
But the best song on here is Nebel (I think the English translation is goodbye, but I don't know) the song is about a woman suffering from breast cancer, but doesn't have the strength to tell her counterpart. She gives him a last kiss, while passing away on a beach. The man tries to forget, but he can't. Nebel is the best song that Rammstein has made up to this date.
So, yes. This Rammstein album is the best one they made, showing that they aren't just a one hit wonder, of course they never were, but some people treat them that way. Which is unfortunate, like I said, this band deserves more recognition.
If you want a harder rocking approach with less electronic noises, I would check out Reise Reise, but be warned; it is more watered down.

Probably Their Second Best, Feb 26 2006
By A Customer
Well, in 2001, Rammstein released their third album Mutter. The best 3 song on this album are Links 2 3 4, Feuer Frei! and Adios, followed closely by Mutter and Ich Will. They combine a string section in Mein Herz Brennt and guitars to make something truly unique. This is probably the album that changed their musical style from Sehnsucht to Reise, Reise and could be viewed as their middle album, a pivitol point for them. this album is pretty much a softened down version of Sehnsucht, but still worth the by as it is a high qualtiy album that sonds different from anything else in existence.
