Product Description

From Amazon.com

There's no denying a youngster's attraction to water, and the folks at Baby Einstein tap into that natural interest--and broaden it. They take babies and toddlers from bathtime to the beach, from tap water to waterfalls and geysers. A puppet octopus and duck serve as guides through clearly labeled sections: Ocean, Rivers and Lakes; Rain Drops and Puddles; Water at My House. A child speaks the title at the beginning and end of each unit, but those are the only words in this 24-minute "video board book." The rest of the sounds come courtesy of Handel, Telemann, Beethoven, and Johann Strauss. Both toy animals and real ones swim through the scenes and the footage of dolphins, sea turtles, and marina fish are fascinating enough that preschoolers won't mind sitting in with younger siblings. (Ages 1-3) --Kimberly Heinrichs

Additional Features

This DVD is more than just a digital version of the video--it incorporates three Baby Einstein Company products in one. From the DVD menu, you can enter the "Home Theater," which plays the award-winning video. Or you can enter the "Concert Hall" to play the music heard in the video or the spoken-language bits (the alphabet, nursery rhymes) in their native tongue. The "Language Lab" features a digital version of Baby Webster, the company's flash-card product for youngsters. These flash cards contain text, pictures, and pronunciations of simple, everyday words in eight languages, including Japanese, Hebrew, Spanish, and English. All programs can automatically repeat for extended play. --Doug Thomas

2.0 out of 5 stars Very Boring and Dull, Mar 13 2005
I normally just love the baby einstein series, but this one was very disappointing. It had the same images more then a couple times, and my son got bored of it very early. It doesn't teach your child new languages, but exposes them to it. However, my son was only interested when the english parts were on. I would recommend baby macdonald; that one is the best one I've seen. But don't waste your money on this!

1.0 out of 5 stars WHAT A WASTE OF TIME !, Jan 7 2005
By A Customer
We have all the Baby Einstein DVD's released to date and this one by far is the worst. Be warned that it does NOT teach the baby or toddler any one language and the different sketches in various languages are boring at best.We watch at least one Baby Einstein DVD a night and we love them. Your child will favor some over others depending at what stage he/she is in development. My daughter started watching them at 6 months of age. I highly recommend the series for any child. My daughter is around 4 different spoken languages routinely and is now 22 months old. She is considred very advanced for her age but she won't give this language nusery DVD 5 minutes of her time and I won't waste our time with it either since she gets no entertainment from it nor any educational benefit. Unfortunately if you buy the complete series you end up with this useless DVD too.It seems they had a lapse of judgment on this one!
