5.0 out of 5 stars An out of this world experience!!, July 7 2004
By Jorge L. Montilla (Tampa, Florida United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
When I started listening to the CD I could not stop doing so. Here is a voice that has a full, dark, baritone sound and the light and effortless high register of a bel canto tenor. It is like combining both tenors, Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti. Rolando's phrasing is near perfect and his pianissimos are just what the term stands for. I do not grow tired of listening to this recording and look forward to the ones to come. I hope I have the opportunity of attending a performance by this young tenor in the near future. It must be a most rewarding experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars An AMAZING Tenor!!, April 21 2004
By A Customer
I remember when Marcello Giordani was to star in MOT's Viva Verdi! on April 5, 2001 and some reason or another he was not able to perform that night. I was really disappointed because my heart was set on hearing Giordani and the replacement was the rather unknown Rolando Villazon. Let me tell you I was not disappointed! I was so excited to hear that he had a new album out that I rushed out and bought it and have been listening to it ever since! All I can say is that he ranks right up there with fellow newcomer, Salvatore Licitra. He holds his own and has such a beautiful voice! You won't regret buying this cd!!
