Depends what you're looking for, Feb 19 2009
If you're a beginner, this DVD is not for you. It's taken me two years of bellydance practice to do most of this DVD! The instructions are simply not there, and some of the moves are quite difficult.
So why did I give it 4 stars? Because I, personally, find it does give a good cardio workout and, if you're not a total beginner, it's really good practice for some bellydance moves.
I also love the music and the "vibe" - I like the spiritual dimension, the "temple feel". The bellydancers themselves are all professionals, so it's great to watch them dance.
If you persevere with this DVD, I think you will find it a good addition to a bellydance DVD collection. I have loads of other bellydance workout DVDs, and this one definitely is one of my favourites. But I use it maybe twice a month, not every day, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone as either a first bellydance purchase, or part of a small collection.

Perfect!, Mar 24 2007
I love this video! I'm not a "trained" dancer. I'm just a dvd student but I love the fact that this is faster paced. I find it difficult to find bellydance dvd's that don't move slowly *yawn* and aren't overly repetitive. The music is excellent, spiritual and soulful and the ladies are beautiful and experts at their craft.
Some reviewers did have a point though, at times when your head was down cues would've been good, but because everything else was so perfect I can over look that. Besides, once you've done it a few times and get the choregraphy down, cues are no longer necessary.

Not impressed., Jul 5 2004
Let me start by saying that I will continue to use this workout DVD occasionally, because the workout was OK, but I was not impressed. Here are the things I did not like: 1) the word "Ultimate" is displayed along the left side of screen during the entire workout, which is distracting & takes up quite a bit of room; 2) I did not like all the chanting, though the music itself was alright; 3) the DVD looks cheaply made, meaning that the camera is unsteady & a little out of focus at times, plus there is just a plain white background; 4) NONE of the movements are ever explained, they are just called by name -- I have done some bellydance videos before, so I could usually figure out what to do, but there were a few times when I really couldn't determine how to do what they were doing; 5) the workout is not really challenging -- I didn't even break a sweat (though it does require some coordination); 6) the camera did not always focus the area that was being worked -- I mean, if I'm being told to do something w/ my legs, and the camera is focused the instructor's face or upper body, how am I supposed to know if I am doing it right? And last but not least, and I know this will sound fickle, but the appearance of some of the instructors was just not what I would expect -- the ladies were, at best, average looking (as most of us are), and that is all I'm going to say about that. This workout seems to focus more on the spiritual aspect of bellydance, as opposed to just the straight out physical benefits, and I am more interested in the seeing physical results. If you want results, I would recommend some of the workouts by Veena & Neena or Rania, as those are, by far, much better workout routines.
