5.0 out of 5 stars Angie Palmer is the Real Thing., Feb 15 2008
By mac61 (Ontario, Canada) - See all my reviews
Angie Palmer's 'Road' has a lyric and poetic beauty that is seldom heard in popular music today. Her depth and potency as a writer is matched by the lovely clarity of her voice and evident skills with a guitar. Tracks range from the opening "Footprints in the Snow", with it's almost literary quality to the serene and yet haunting love song "Less than I Need You" to the album's closer, a whimsical, delightful and yet still richly meaningful "Down the Street of the Cat Who Fished". Her ability as a singer and songwriter is such that she can sing with nothing but her guitar and not have the song sound sparse, but she can add an electric guitar and drums and not lose herself in the band, either.

In an American Idol world of pre-packaged singers with nothing to say, Angie Palmer is more than just an extraordinary singer and song writer. She's the real thing. This is an artist who rewards the careful and passionate listener. We haven't seen anything like her in a long, long time.
