For Family Guy fans, there are no freakin' sweeter words than "Never Before Seen." Created as a three-episode story arc, this DVD premiere is a triumphant homecoming for the Griffins. Family Guy's resurrection is a television miracle, and its creators have rewarded the faithful by picking up right where they left off, offending any and all sensibilities (recasting Jesus as comic magician Art Metrano), dissing the celebrity disenfranchised (Ellen Cleghorne references, anyone?), and generally taking potshots at anyone on their enemies list (Stewie breaks the neck of a reporter for Entertainment Weekly, the magazine that once called Family Guy "the Awful Show They Just Keep Putting on the Air"). The Untold Story! is a star vehicle for Family Guy 's breakout character, in which the mega maniacal and matricidal infant has a Grinch-like change of heart after a near-death experience (and a disturbing encounter with Steve Allen in Hell) and, more life-altering, discovers a football-pated man who could be his father (the truth is more shocking!). As go the gags, so goes Family Guy, and there are enough good ones here to compensate for the many misfires. The Miller-esque (as in Dennis) penchant for channeling arcane pop culture can grow tiresome. But for those who do remember the words to the Who's the Boss theme song, know (or still care) who Steve Bartman is, and are always up for "a sexy party," this will be the greatest story ever untold. --Donald Liebenson

Description

In this exclusive 88 minute DVD premiere, featuring brand new, never before seen content, Stewie, the maniacal baby genius, is distracted from his plans for world domination when he sees a man who looks just like him on television. Convinced that this man must be his real father (after all, how could he possibly share genetic material with the dimwitted Peter?), Stewie sets off on a cross-country road trip to find him. But his incredible journey leads him to discoveries far more vile and shocking that anything found in his diaper.

2.0étoiles sur 5 Blast you, vile woman!, Oct. 2 2005

(REAL NAME)
"Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story" is really just three episodes combined to make one feature. There are things here that work & are really funny, but there are other things that fall short & miss the mark. As great as "Family Guy" is, this movie just doesn't live up to the show's legacy.

The essence of the story is Stewie meets a man whom he believes is his real father, only to discover the man is him thirty years later. Finding out that his future life is not at all what he hoped for, he attempts to repair the past (a la "Terminator 2" & "Back To The Future", just a lot less inspired). Peter & Lois try to introduce Chris & Meg to dating. Brian is tacked on to the "A" story, but doesn't play an integeral part in the plot, (which is a shame because the concept of a talking, sarcastic, alcoholic dog is hilarious). Of course, series regulars (Cleveland, greased-up deaf guy, Mayor West, etc...) tag along.

Unlike "South Park: Bigger, Longer, & Uncut"; the coarse language is kept to a bare minimum, but perhaps that can be a positive thing. Also unlike "South Park", there's nothing truly new or exciting in "Stewie Griffin" that fans probably expected from a "Family Guy" movie.

The biggest issue I have with this DVD is it's price. This single disc, (with few bonus features), costs $30 or more. A full season of "Family Guy" (with funny, interesting stories) can be purchased for less than $50. Maybe this "Family Guy" movie should have remained untold.

4.0étoiles sur 5 funny!, Nov. 23 2007

(TOP 500 REVIEWER)
i have to admit this movie was pretty funny.it's also crude
lewd,offensive and disgusting,like the TV show.and i liked it.i thought
it was at least as funny as some of the earlier Family Guy episodes.a
lot of the movie seems like an extended version of the TV show, but so
what.besides there is actually a good story in there.if you don't like
the TV show, you won't like this movie.nothing is sacred here.if there
is something to poke fun at,this film does it.the DVD has an option for
an uncensored language track, which i opted for.there are a few more
coarse words than with the regular language track.the swears didn't
bother me,but they didn't really add anything to the movie either.my
vote for Family Guy Presents:Stewie Griffin-The Untold Story is a solid
4/5
