Synopsis
The seventeen-hour home video release St. Louis Cardinals: The Greatest Games of Busch Stadium packs in six of the most thrilling games of the Cardinals' forty-year history, from the team's May 12, 1966 inception through the present day - all of the home game action unfolding in one location, the venerable Busch Stadium. The featured games are all presented uninterrupted here, in full, as originally broadcast on television. Games in this release include: the first contest of the 1968 World Series, with Bob Gibson's groundbreaking series of seventeen strikeouts; the second game of the 1982 world series, wherein the Cardinals worked their way to victory with a rally late in the game; the third round of the '87 series, where Vince Coleman's clutch hits, as well as superb pitching throughout, secured a solid victory; McGwire's 62nd homer in 1998; and the seventh game of the NLC series, where Albert Pujols and Scott Rolen batted their way to a triumphant win for the team. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide
