I am sure a lot of people are wondering how to purchase this DVD set. This should also clear up the question posted by the first reviewer...

Are You Afraid of the Dark?: Season 1 is only available in Canada. United States residents will have to import this from Canada. In other words, it has to be ordered from Amazon.ca and not Amazon.com. Direct Source is the company responsible for publishing this DVD set, but they only have the rights to distribute it in Canada. Also, this set will never be sold in U.S. retail stores. If you want to purchase this, then plan on ordering it here. Ordering from Amazon.ca is a piece of cake.

I had been waiting so long for this to come out! While there are really no added features, having just the episodes is fine by me! Each episode brought me back to my childhood, where my sister and best friend would each eagerly sit in front of my television watching the entire SNICK block and being so excited for AYAOTD to come on. Each episode is unpredictable and very creative. It was easily my favorite show as a child because it was unlike any other. There has never been or ever will be another show for children (and even us adult children) that is this exceptional. Definitely a one of a kind show that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Like the reviewer below me, I'm an American that was disappointed to find this first season unvailable in my home country. Luckily I was able to find it here and eagerly bought it. The box is fabulous, but the DVD itself seemed a little low budget. I was hoping for spookier interactive menus and maybe some special features. All it has is the episodes, but I guess that's enough.

The shows are featured in their entirety and are just about as good as I remember them as a kid (only slightly more cheesy). I definately recommend buying this whether you are Canadian or American and love the show. Hopefully we'll get the other seasons released internationally soon!

Ordered this dvd from here on Amazon causes its obviously not available anywhere in the U.S., that being where I live. Overall, I'd say the DVD is about a 7/10. Read more
