Product Description

Synopsis

For those who survived the earth-shaking terrors of 10.5, the tremors just keep on coming in this sequel that finds scientist Samantha Hill (Kim Delaney) and President Hollister (Beau Bridges) doing battle against Mother Nature as she unleashes her formidable wrath in the heartland. Extinct volcanoes are erupting at an alarming rate, and the ground is opening up to swallow entire cities, leading some to believe that the Apocalypse has finally begun. All hope isn't lost yet, however, and as FEMA leaps into action to provide assistance to those in need, volunteer firefighter Brad Malloy (Dean Cain) and kindly doctor Miguel Garcia (Carlos Bernard) do their best to get citizens out of the rapidly expanding danger zones. With even more destruction on the horizon, Samantha is forced to put the past behind her in hopes that her father, Dr. Earl Hill (Frank Langella), a rogue scientist whose ideas have found him exiled from mainstream science, can find a way to divert the path of the quake and save countless lives in the process. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

5.0 out of 5 stars just as thrilling and exciting as the 1st movie("10.5"), Mar 14 2007

after watching 10.5,i was fairly sure this movie sequel would be inferior.however, after watching it, i believe it is as good as the original in its own right.there is more drama, with alot of emphasis on how the tragedy brings out the best in people.there is lots more focus on the aftermath and its effects, both on people and in terms of physical damage.but there are still some great scenes of destruction and mayhem.again the movie bombards you with the action and effects, but in a good way.in my opinion, this movie is on par with the original.if you liked the 1st one, which i loved, you will love this movie.just don't go into it thinking you will be watching a movie which is accurate scientifically, because it probably isn't accurate(though i'm no gelogist or seismologist).that's not what this movie is about.it's about(hopefully)entertaining and thrilling the viewer.pure escapist entertainment.for me,both the movies work in that regard.in my opinion,as with "10.5","10.5:Apocalypse" rates 10.5*/10

2.0 out of 5 stars No surround sound, Jan 31 2009

The soundtrack on this comes out of your center channel only. If the processor is put to stereo, then there is some improvement. No sub effects either. Movie is typical of "made for tv" with low budget efx. I watched the whole movie so that has to say something.
