5.0étoiles sur 5 The perfect murder mystery, Avril 7 2004
Par Un client
I am a big fan of the Cat Who series by Lillian Jackson Braun. In fact, this was the first book I actually read from the series. I think I read this first book within the span of a day, and that was as a pre-teen. All the books in this series are full of captivating, edge of your seat suspense. Jim Qwilleran (Mr. Q, and Qwill) has inherited a mass fortune, but must inhabit Pickax county for a period of 5 years in order to obtain his new found wealth. In this story, he has just moved into the Klingoshen mansion with his 2 cats, Koko and Yum Yum. Koko has a crazy knack for sniffing our murder and mystery no matter where he is. And once again, his nose proves to hold the key, only this time by sorting Qwill's mail (only bringing those letter HE deems important). The antics of Koko and Yum Yum will make you laugh, while at the same time, setting the stage for a truly remarkable novel. I give this book (and the series) 50 stars.

4.0étoiles sur 5 In Which Qwilleran, Koko, and Yum Yum. . ., Fév 18 2004

(TOP 500 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
. . .move to Pickax (pop. 3,000) in Moose County (400 miles north of everywhere)!

Why? Because Qwill is suddenly very, very rich! He endears himself to the population of Pickax by setting up a foundation to distribute his new wealth for the betterment of the community. He is also dating the beautiful daughter of the local doctor.

HOWEVER. . .someone does NOT approve of Qwill's actions; someone does NOT appreciate Qwill's generosity; and someone does NOT want Qwill, his moustach, or his cats to discover a deadly secret.

Fans of this series will also appreciate the return of Mrs. Iris Cobb, Qwill's landlady from Down Below, and the return of Arch Riker, Qwill's best friend from the newspaper world.

A good novel, and one which lovers of the series will greatly appreciate.

4.0étoiles sur 5 The 6th Koko Book - Well-Plotted, But..., Avril 15 2003
This is the 6th book in "The Cat Who (TCW)..." Series. The 5th "TCW Played Brahms" was the biggest turning point, and this book is the important sequel.

I don't think the TCW Series is very good as a whodunit, but this book is relatively well-plotted. Maybe best-plotted in the six TCW books I have ever read. But I don't give this book five stars, because I still don't like Moose County and I feel the development is rather boring.

And I feel Koko's sleuth ability is too much in this book, such as Koko gets cold to Qwill who barks up the wrong tree. Still tolerable this time, since it can be interpreted as Qwill's overestimation. I'm afraid it might go too far in later books.
