Product Description

Description

David Boreanaz (Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) stars as F.B.I. Agent Seeley Booth, who teams up with forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel) to solve some of the most baffling and bizarre crimes ever. Booth depends on clues from the living, witnesses and suspects, while Brennan gathers evidence from the dead, relying on her uncanny ability to read clues left behind in the bones of the victims. Their different investigative styles cause the two to frequently clash, creating an undeniable chemistry and just the right touch of dark humor. Inspired by real-life forensic anthropologist Kathy Reichs and state-of-the-art criminal investigation procedures, Bones is a compelling, cutting edge television.

2.0 out of 5 stars Great show, but DVD could be better..., Jan 7 2009
By Brian Conway "class-nerd" (Toronto, Ont. CAN) - See all my reviews

I love "Bones" as a show, and based on the show's content alone I'd have rated this 4-stars. But the DVD product itself is horrible. For starters, it's on double-sided disks - which means those of us who have multi-disk DVD players can't just watch the whole season straight, but have to flip the disk after every 4 episodes. On the flip side of the disk is often only 1 episode and some bonus features. I wouldn't have minded if they put only the bonus features on the flipside, but every disk has 1 or 2 eps on the other side.

Add to that the fact that the DVD features are sorely lacking in this first season. This bonus content alone is not worth the buy (as it often is in other cases). If you only started watching the show recently, and enjoy it, it's worth the buy to see how the characters and relationships are established; otherwise, save your cash and wait for the reruns.

Again, great show, but it's a very poorly designed box set. Fortunately they fixed this in the next season's sets.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bones Season One - Never Again, Feb 26 2009

All the DVD's hummed in my player. Side 2 of Disk one would not play due to the copy protection. I had to make my own copy onto a blank disk just to watch it. It will be a long time before I buy copy protected discs again. At least let people who buy the discs watch them. I loved the shows when I could see them.

Season one starts off a bit uncertain of itself but then finds its groove and becomes great.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Don't call me Bones" :)
"Bones" is one of my favourite tv series. It is difficult to define it, due to the fact that it has crime, drama, mistery, and even some elements of comedy and romance. Read more
