5.0 out of 5 stars This DVD Box Set Is So Good, It's Better Than (BLANK)..., Mar 16 2007
By DirtyPrettythings "M." (Toronto, ON Canada) - See all my reviews
OK. I was in HMV and I had some extra cash to spend and I desperately wanted something cool to watch. [...]. I remember The Match Game from when I was a kid (I was like maybe two at the time) but since I'm a pop culture junkie I kept on trying to find reruns on The Game Show Network. This box set rocks.

Not only does it have some stars who are not around like Michael Landon, but has some of the funniest game show moments e.g. "the boobs" answer and celebrity panel's re-action. (Remember you couldn't say certain things on TV back then.) This was totally worth skipping [...]. [...]. This may not be around forever.

Plus it has rarities that don't see on television, people smoking and drinking (Brett Summers) on a game show. What's not to love?!!! As television gets more and more comatosed and unorginial it's nice to go back in the past and see when television is actual cool. Plus at the end of every episode you get to see The Match Game contestant prizes including a "Hartz Pet Care Kit", "Z-Brick wall covering" and a full set of "American Tourister luggage".

It is TOTALLY worth the money for anyone who loves [...]or is a game show nut like myself.

If you don't get this you'd be a total (BLANK)...*insert thinking music here*

4.0 out of 5 stars very entertaining and politically incorrect 70's game show, Aug 22 2007
By falcon "disdressed12" (canada) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)
even though this game show is from the early seventies,i still really
enjoy it.it's not boring at all.in fact it is quite funny at
times.there's a lot of things they say that are funny, but they would
not get away with today,in this time of political correctness.it's also
amusing to see what people wore back then and their
hairstyles.man, that's some crazy stuff.if you grew up in that era,it
certainly is an interesting trip down memory lane, especially if you're
the nostalgic type.people were definitely less inhibited back then, and
happier,i think.nowadays, any time you wanna do something that goes
against convention,it's as if a committee has to study every little
detail to make sure no one or their dog(or cat,or hamster etc.)gets
offended.to me,watching Match game is a very entertaining experience. 4/5
