5.0 out of 5 stars Another good season..., Sep 12 2008
Maybe I just really love Miami Vice..but this whole series was excellent. Sure...some episodes were not the best...but nobody is perfect. This seasons' opener was ok...not as big as the other seasons, but good nonetheless. It is the episode where Sonny's car gets blown up (although watch for the car to come back in a later episode entitled "El Viejo" with Willie Nelson). All the episodes are pretty decent..."Theresa" was an excellent episode about Sonny's girlfriend who is actually an addict. It really brings out Sonny's character. "Forgive us our debts" is also an episode to note as Sonny gets the person who killed one of his old partners off death row but realizes he has made a mistake a little too late. This is a sad season though as Zito leaves the cast in the episode entitled "Down for the Count (part 1)". This two-part episode puts a litte tension in the mix as Sonny basically makes Zito go undercover and it all goes very wrong. It is my opinion that in episodic television it is more important to build the character than the actual episode and this season really hit that nail on the head. The season was good..but the characters became so much more. One will note that Sonny's suits became dark and Tubbs became lighter..but as you get to know the characters more...this change makes sense. I love Miami Vice...and I'm sure it could be a horrible season and I would still love it...if you loved it back then...you'll like it now. I have watched this season twice now...and am going to watch it again.
