You can Finally enjoy on DVD Tex Avery's greatest achievement in cartoon. Droopy is an ahead-of-its-time-funny peace of carton history. Influenced by the comedy of the silent movie era, a past career with the Looney Toons during the golding-era where he created Daffy Duck and the personnality of Bugs Bunny and his texan roots, Tex created Droopy for the MGM. For those who remember, it is the cartoon referenced in the movie "The Mask" when Jim Carrey pops-in a VHS featuring the Wolf whistling at a woman dancing. The cartoon has unique and unpredictable sight gags, situations, and comedy, not far from the styles of movies like Airplane, Spaceballs and Naked Gun... but 40 years before!

It is mildly violent for a cartoon and has some racist and diminutive jokes that would be unacceptable for today's audience in this "politically correct" era. On the DVD, there is a scary warning about the content by the Warner Bros. company, it says that the episodes contain jokes that are wrong and diminutive for some minorities and should not be taken seriously because it represented issues that were common in the days the cartoons were done and that WB "decided" not to censor these cartoons out of respect for the collectors and creators... but they thought about it. A great decision from their part... obviously!

The set contains two fully-packed discs containing all the 25 cartoons released in theatres. Don't judge Droopy by the Droopy you can see today on the kids channel because it has NOTHING to do with this Droopy! It's just like the old Tom & Jerry vs. the new Tom & Jerry! You will be able to make this distinction in these DVDs because the first 18 cartoons were done by the man Tex and the last 6 were pourly written and animated cheaply by Michael Lah, resembling more today's cartoons with their predictibility, lack of backgrounds and character development, fear of violence and repetitive situations.

So whether you are a fan of retro cartoons or just an amateur looking back at what may have influenced cartoon and comedy history or people like Jim Carrey or David Zucker, this box-set will make you laugh hard and bark for more! Don't miss this one!
