Wow, I never imagined I would have an opportunity to see this series again. I guess I was 8 or 9 years old when it aired on Saturday mornings and remember waiting patiently in front of the black and white television for it to come on. It quickly became my favorite cartoon superhero. To relive those childhood memories watching this DVD was pure pleasure and worth every penny. To see it in color now is a bonus. I thought the packaging was pretty good with 20 half hour episodes having three segments each on two double sided DVD's. Don't hesitate to buy this if you are a Birdman fan. Its always great to feel like a kid again.

I enjoyed seeing this after 30 years of not seeing it.It is one of the
best cartoon shows that were produced by Hanna Barbera.The birdboy episodes I didn't care for but,enjoyed them just the same.I do agree
that the packaging is cheap and could have been better but,I never had
fingerprinted or scratched DVDs like some may have been.It still gets a
5 star rating from me for memory lane reasons despite a few faults the
packaging has got.There could have been more for bouns features too.

I bought this set purely for nostalgia and I'm glad I did, but it appears that little effort went into restoring these episodes for this DVD release. The video transfer suffers from all sorts of age related debris, speckling, scratches and is nowhere near the quality of some of the other Hanna Barbera releases. As for the overall packaging and condition of the discs, fans will be deeply disappointed. The packaging is the absolute cheapest I've ever seen and the quality of the discs is positively terrible. In this set, you get a very cheap cardboard package and two double sided discs that sit on top of one another. The discs are very hard to remove from the package and chances are they'll get scratched. I pre-ordered this set from Amazon.ca and when I received it the discs were already full of fingerprints and scratches. I contacted Amazon.ca customer service immediately and they offered a replacement set without question and issued an apology. When the second set arrived it was riddled with deep scratches, more fingerprints and some kind of residue on the discs. It's evident from this release that the company doing the DVD replicating for Warner has some serious quality control problems and they need to be addressed immediately. As for Amazon.ca, they resolved my problem to my satisfaction with a level of service I've come to expect. I wish I could say the same for Warner Studios.
