Maybe it's not the best animated show ever, but I still love this silly-good slice of early 70's nostalgia. For those who remember, there's at least one fun pop tune per episode and for those who don't remember, the series is a Scooby-meets-Archie sequel-type knock-off. Similarities include; Alan (looks like Fred), Josie (a cross between Daphne and Betty), Alexander (a cleaned up "groovier" Shaggy, who's even voiced by Casey Kasem), his sister, the chronically unhappy Alexandra (looks like Veronica), Sebastian (an often helpful cat), and of course, the same Scooby music, sound-effects and often silly mystery plot-lines and dialogue ("meddling kids" etc.). The series is still alot of fun, and I love the music. As a dvd bonus the show's creator, Dan DeCarlo is profiled in a fantastic 22min. featurette, where we learn that Josie is named and modeled after his wife.

I enjoyed watching this DVD series of "Josie and the Pussycats".I never
seen it when the show first aired in 1970 I couldn't get very many channels on TV then.I have seen bits of the show on and off throughout the
years.It is well put together DVD box set.The packaging could be better
and the bouns items could be more to them.It still gets a 5 star rating
for great childhood memories and a good cartoon series.I hope to see
"Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space" on DVD.
