I purchased this set largely because Susan Hampshire had a significant role and I generally enjoy BBC productions. I got the entire collection as that is much cheaper than buying individual seasons and I hoped I would like it. Indeed I loved it from the first five minutes to the very end of the final season. Actually I feel bereft that I have finished as looking forward to the next episode has been a sustaining addition to my life for the past couple of months. Set in glorious scenery in northern Scotland, the series develops a core of characters around the happenings in an endangered scottish castle and the immediate township. While each episode has its own plot there is also a developing larger plot which unfolds as the series progress. Humourous, action packed, moving and engrossing, I highly recommend this set of DVDs.
