Things blow up. Someone you think is a human turns out to be a shape-shifting Terminator. There are confusing forays through time and discussions about what happened when in which version of the past and/or future. But really, the second season of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles--unfortunately the final season of the series--is about family, connections, and the things we do to protect the ones we love. Sarah Connor (Lena Headey) has an especially rough road, nearly dying and becoming obsessed with a three-dot symbol and detours through a world of UFO obsessives. John Connor (Thomas Dekker), a.k.a. the guy who will grow up to lead humanity's resistance to the hated machines, gets tough and gets a girlfriend. His uncle Derek (Brian Austin Green) gets a girl as well, and the women in their lives turn out to have a surprising connection. Cameron (Summer Glau), the Terminator sent to protect John, suffers some damage and reveals some surprisingly human secrets of her own as her relationship with John gets more emotional and complicated. Shirley Manson (lead singer of Garbage) joins the cast as Catherine Weaver, an icy executive with… well, suffice it to say that a familiar (and threatening) face shows up in her company. The special features are extensive and include featurettes on the writing, effects, stunts, music and more. This is a fitting sendoff for an ambitious show. --Stephanie Reid-Simons

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous series that didn't get a chance to thrive, Mar 14 2010
By Melissa (Canada) - See all my reviews
The second season ends with such great possibilities-it's like being on a roller coaster and edging to the top. I was ready for more intricate story lines and character development. I am a fan of every actress and actor of this series-there was never a time when they switched scenes when I thought, 'hmm, don't feel like watching this story line.' The season finale was awesome! (**spoiler**) and my adrenaline was pumping at the thought of John getting to meet his father in the future.

Needless to say-why the hell was this show taken off the air!!!! It is so disappointing that after watching two seasons and witnessing story emerge, that you're left with nothing. It's like being shot at the hint of an orgasm.

5.0 out of 5 stars Scriptwriting, acting, excellence... Better than you might think, Mar 8 2010
By Laurence R. Hunt "Laurence Hunt" (Kenora, Ontario, Canada) - See all my reviews

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles is better than you might think. It looks and sounds like an action series, and I'll grant you that there is plenty of "action." However, the scriptwriting is at the highest standard. Character development is nuanced and subtle. The dialogue is rich and surprising. And the episodes leave you with much to think about. For my taste, there is more action, and certainly more shooting, than necessary (I don't require any at all to be entertained). Thus my top-rated science fiction series this year remains the brilliantly-conceived and character-driven Stargate Universe (I haven't seen Caprica yet). Nonetheless, I really look forward to each episode of this series, because the characters and stories are so rich and complex. You might wish to reconceptualize this series as a science fiction/drama employing an action "theme" as a driver. The writers are brilliant. The acting is superb, with Summer Glau an old favourite from her Firefly days.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get this one and hope a third season will come someday., Jan 31 2010

Story is well developped and the picture quality and sound quality is exellent. In addition the extras : comments , extras scenes , make off , bloopers are a definitive plus.

The season 2 is even better and needed to answer many questions left by season 1 ending it is just sad a third season have been cancelled but rumors exist about a 3 seasons may come in the form of a movie or direct to Blu-Ray and DVD.

This serie have many websites of fans who ask even for a third season to be broadcast and release on DVD and Blu-Ray because it is one of the rare Science-fiction serie who mix well storyline and special effects.
