Synopsis

A made for TV movie that provides a bridge between the sixth and seventh seasons of the hit FOX action series 24, 24: Redemption features series star Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer. As the program opens, Bauer spends his time doing missionary work in Africa, laying low while the United States government attempts to capture him. His work leads him into contact with an evil warlord who maintains a loyal army by constantly brainwashing children into joining him. Bauer risks his freedom in order to stop the warlord. The series "24" lives up to its well deserved reputation as one of the best series on TV. "Redemption" taking place in Africa makes the choice of local different than the ongoing series. It presents a new look at children soldiers (a horror in itself)and the efforts of some to save children from this barbaric practice.
Keifer Sutherland is upto his usual standards and it is good to se him again in action between seasons. There were two discs in the presentation, the second disc had discussions by some of the parties producing the film. This was a bit of a disappointment in that I had hoped the second disc would show a continuation of the story. Instead it was repeated. Just goes to show how much I look forward to the show when it appears. This review is not a reflection on the supplier of the discs (Movie Village) for the discs were in good condition and arrived promptly.
I hope there will be more film productions of "24" in the future to satisfy my appetite for the series of "24"
