Product Description

Review

Wonder Woman is a noble attempt to give the comic world's most famous super-heroine an animated feature deserving of her fame, and for the most part it succeeds in its mission. Granted, there are some flaws. The screenplay gets a bit chaotic in places, trying to perhaps squeeze a bit too much into its limited 75-minute running time. Exactly what Ares is up to and exactly how it is intended to play out is not presented as clearly as intended, nor is the explanation for his drastically increased powers convincing. The last minute arrival of the Amazons in the climactic fight is a bit forced, and it seems unlikely that Steve could fly all the way to Themyscira to intercept a missile and return to Washington DC in such a relatively short time as is presented here. It also should be noted that certain sequences, especially the opening battle, are very violent and may not be appropriate for younger viewers. These flaws are minor, however, and Wonder Woman is overall a very entertaining movie. There's wonderful chemistry between Diana and Steve, and Steve's womanizing behavior leads to some very amusing moments, especially when he's ensnared in the lasso of truth. Keri Russell and Nathan Fillion are tops as the voices of Diana and Steve, Alfred Molina is a delightfully evil Ares, and Oliver Platt a totally creepy Hades. The backgrounds are exceptional, the animation is very good for a project with this budget and director Lauren Montgomery knows how to deliver in the action sequences. ~ Craig Butler, All Movie Guide

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Animation, Nov 21 2009

This review is from: Wonder Woman [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
Speaking as a fan of the DC comic world, this movie is definitely a buy for all super hero fans out there. The animation is suberb, excellent voice acting and a great story. Word of warning though, the movie has some violent scenes and adult situations that are not suitable for young children.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully Crafted, Jun 20 2009
By Henry Wallace "Review Guy" (Saskatoon, SK Canada) - See all my reviews
Wonder Woman is one of the best comic animated movies around. It is intelligently written, with many humorous lines, and some solid voice acting by the characters, especially that of Alfred Molina. The storyline is very engaging, making the movie a believable tale the viewer can lose themselves in. I would recommend this movie for any Wonder Woman fan, any comic fan, or anyone who has an interest in Greek mythology.

5.0 out of 5 stars the best animated feature from DC or Marvel to date (4.5/5), Mar 21 2009

this is DC comics latest animated feature, and it is good.in my
mind,it's the best animated feature from both DC and their rival
Marvel.the action is outstanding,especially the fight scenes.the
dialogue is good,as is the voice acting.there are some big names
lending their voices here, and all suit the characters very well.i also
liked the story, though how accurate it is to the comic book i don't
know.i do know it's nice to have a strong central female character who
can hold her own with any guy,and i don't just mean physically or
intellectually.there is actually a pretty funny scene which illustrates
this point, but i won't get into it here.anyway, hopefully in the next
couple of years or so a live live action Wonder Woman film will hit
theatres.anyway,for me,this animated Wonder Woman is a 4.5/5

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved this DVD
I just loved this movie. My only complaint and it pretty minor, 70 minutes seemed too short for this film. Gail Simone crafted a great story, can't wait for Green Latern.
