This is a very good purchase that I would recommend to anyone needing a weighted vest. The only problem I had that is worth mentioning with it is that I had to keep readjusting the Velcro on the vest after doing sets of pushups or anything that I did on a downward angle. Mostly that was due to my body stature as I am quite skinny. As long as you keep track of the fastening and the vest's bottom then it isn't any real problem.

Over all, very comfortable and well worth the price and preforms superbly.

This is a really good weight vest. Certainly less expensive than competing product, it has been a excellent companion on all my workouts. Easy to manage and wear, this vest will provide that needed weight-training edge in ones daily routine. Excellent product.

Good for the price July 5 2011

I purchased this vest a few months ago for lifting and cardio. I am quite pleased with my purchase.

- I've found that it fastens comfortably across my torso for both cardio (running, stairs, etc.) and weight lifting.
- Highly reflective for outdoor exercise at night.

- It's a tiny bit uncomfortable at first, as the weighted bags which come with the vest are clunky and stiff. I got used to this pretty quickly.
- The cell phone/MP3 pouch on the front of the vest is basically useless. The weighted bags are not forgiving, and it is quite small. It may be useful if you remove the weighted bags behind it, but the size is hardly enough for a small MP3 player.

If you're on the fence, this is a good choice.

Very disappointed March 2 2012

Vest was purchased before Christmas for an active duty soldier in need of a weighted training vest. Despite less than five uses of regular wear (walking, running) and appropriate handling, the adjustable strap has almost completely separated from the vest itself, and weights have started to fall through the stitching. The stitch work on this product is insufficient to support the weights inside. Because the problem occurred outside of the window of time for Amazon returns, we will have to try and restitch ourselves to avoid being stuck with a useless product. Very disappointed with the quality; I do not recommend this vest to other buyers.

Good value, but with some annoyances May 6 2011

The vest works pretty well especially for the price, but these things annoy me:

1. The little weights are a bit of a pain to get in their slots. If you wanted to add or remove a bunch of them, it would take awhile. The weights often don't fit that well, either, and the flaps that are supposed to cover them don't work very well. It seems like they cut corners in the design or manufacture.

2. Because of the above, the weights sometimes fall out. Pick it up wrong, and half of them could end up on the floor.

3. The velcro flaps that are supposed to fold over your chest and keep the font and back together aren't that strong. If you do a motion like a pull-up, it might open up on you. For certain exercises, such as one where the weight of the front portion lays against the flaps, nothing I can do will keep them together. This may have something to do with my shape, since I'm pretty thin.

Overall, I'd give this 3.5 stars. With a better design of the flaps and velcro, it would be 5!

EDIT: I took a closer look in a brighter room, and if you're careful to make sure the flaps are over the weights, the problem of bags flying out shouldn't be so bad. It takes a little more time, but it's worth it. I still think there has to be a better design, but to be fair, items 1 and 2 aren't as annoying as I portrayed, so I bumped this up to 4 stars.

Weighted Vest Aug. 2 2010

Surprisingly well made and easy to incrementally increase weight in a front-back balanced manner - by about 3/4 pound per weight. The only improvement I might suggest is that a provision be made to adjust the shoulder pads so they would move closer for small people and wider apart for larger people. I believe that, in addition to taking the right type of Calcium and Vitamin-D, this vest is the best thing one can add to prevent osteoporosis - by just wearing it around the house or out walking.

Comfortable and well-fitting vest Aug. 9 2012

This 30-pounder is the third weight vest I own (I started with a 10 and 20 lb vests, each of which I used for a year or more as I worked up gradually). It is the fifth brand I have tried. I am very happy with it and its price.

This is well-fitted for my body (5'5" and 140 lbs): right height, right width. Other products I've tried have been too wide to tightly cinch around my torso or too long so the "hem" goes past my thigh joint and thus impedes walking.

This vest requires no assembly, it is easy to put on (though it requires overhead lifting), and it is as comfortable as one would expect a 30-lb vest to be.

The only reason I am rating it a four is because the neoprene pouches for the sand baggies are too small. The baggies can fall out easily when you lift the vest overhead. This issue could have been simply remedied by providing some kind of a flap to secure the little sand baggies. I put duct tape on all the pouches to secure the bags within. That is a pain and is maybe not a long-term solution; I don't know if heat and sweat will degrade the duct tape's adhesion to the neoprene.

Its "pocket" will hold one regular metal (not electronic) key.

I wear the vest 3-4 times a week for 60 - 90 mins at a stretch. I will update this post if I have issues with durability.

I recommend this product, but just beware the falling baggies.

Update on 11/11/12: The duct tape tends to curl with heat and sweat. Not a good solution, and I have lost a couple of baggies in a parking lot when I didn't notice them fall out. I still like the fit of the vest, though, and wear it 3-4 times a week for an hour.

Update on 4/4/13: Less than 8 months later, the waist belt, made of neoprene, is showing its fragility. The material is starting to tear, and I have no idea how to reinforce it without resorting to more duct tape. This is not durable for long-term use.
